Rose City Comicon 2018

Great people, great books, great costumes! We enjoyed our first ever corner booth. 18 feet of linear space and we filled it all.

Truly a family effort, it was great having the whole family there. Kyle is already a great salesman. Emily draws people in and engages them in long enthusiastic discussions. Jacob had his first ever direct sale of books to fans. The kids got valuable life experience, and had a lot of fun doing it. They didn’t consider it work, because they are such big fans of the books.

Family favorite Comicon moments:

Jacob: Setting up the books in symmetrical stacks.

Kyle: Closing sales is his favorite, especially the thrill of selling a book to a new fan.

Emily: Meeting Roxy, our first canine fan, and a great Spock lookalike!

Jenny: Meeting the people and seeing the creative costumes.

Frank: Connecting with new fans.

We started with a big stack of Set in Stone, and sold out of paperbacks AND hardcovers. Also sold out of Memory Hunter and A Stone’s Throw (Book 2) paperbacks. By the last day, we had to take orders for Set in Stone, which we shipped out once we got more stock. That’s always fun!

Rose City might only bring in half the people as Salt Lake, but they made up for it with loads of enthusiasm. We had a great time!
